Hi...

I attended yesterday's CPFA Southern Regional Meeting at Pasadena City College and I want to thank Alexis for a wonderful day.

The day started out with a visit from the Honorable Scott Wildman, author of AB-420. Scott exudes charm with the ability to hear the concerns of each part-timer he chooses to take the time and really listen to us.

This is the first time i have had the opportunity to hear our keynote speaker the Honorable Jackie Goldberg. What impressed me most about her was that she came with a solid action packed message with guidance on what we could do as part-timers to be effective.

We heard from David Hawkins,FACCC's Director of Legislative Affairs. David is an extremely engaging speaker. Don't forget to ask one of your colleagues who attended about HALT...

Waddell & Reed, Financial Services came and gave us a presentation on financial planning which is always a wake up call .

We had reports from Mary Ellen Goodwin on the huge success of COCAL IV which Mary Ellen managed to put together for all of us to enjoy.

Lantz Simpson, CPFA, Dian Hasson,CTA, Lin Fraser, CFT and Robert Yoshioka, FACCC Part-Time Committee each shared with us reports on the current status of issues concerning part timers.

Oh, I know this is long and I'm sorry . It truly was a packed day . Part-Timers Speak Out was a new addition to our Southern area meeting that was particularly successful.

Linda Cushing had an opportunity to share the saga of North Orange County which is really heating up.

The day was a huge success and no email would be complete without thanking David Milroy for once again pulling off an outstanding meeting.

Thanks,
Therese Gray
